School Uniform and Equipment

Our students are role models for the school and represent the school in our wider community therefore we want our students to look smart and to be proud of their appearance.

Students are expected to wear full school uniform, including a blazer, at all times, to and from school and within the school premises, unless advised by a member of staff.

We expect our students to adhere to the following rules:

  • No hoodies, coloured jumpers or cardigans

  • Students may only wear jumpers with official AVS logo

  • No make-up

  • No jewellery, except a plain single stud in each ear, to be worn in the lower earlobe. Stretchers / Spacers of any description are not allowed

  • No bracelets or body/facial piercings. This includes nose studs of any description (including clear retainers), lip, eyebrow and cheek piercings

  • No nail varnish or nail extensions

  • No coloured hair unless one single, natural colour

Equipment

It is important that your child is equipped and prepared for learning by having the correct equipment which includes:

  • Black or blue pens

  • Pencils and a pencil sharpener

  • Ruler

  • Eraser

  • Scientific calculator

  • Protractor and compasses

These items are best kept in a pencil case, and there is an expectation that all students have a pencil case on the desk during lessons. In addition, your child may find highlighters or coloured pencils/pens useful.
